There are a number of hotel/ convention center complexes under construction, and it’s likely we are headed for more if the economy continues to grow. The good news: Hotel construction is on the rise. While this is great news for hotels, show organizers aren’t necessarily celebrating. All of the major hotel chains - including Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott and Starwood - are reporting strong gains through the 2nd Quarter of 2014. are enjoying increased revenues, occupancies and average daily rates (ADR). We rocked the first dance! Plus, our families and friends know that we're not big dancers, so they were pleasantly surprised by the performance.Hotel/Convention Center Complexes of North America BY DANICA TORMOHLEN, editor-at-large and RENEE DIIULIO, senior editor Our first dance was to S'Wonderful by Jaoa Gilberto, and I was so proud of us. We both have two left feet and decided to take dancing lessons just one month prior to our wedding. “One of our favorite moments was our first dance. We incorporated our dog into our wedding because she means the world to us, and we wanted her there,” the bride reminisced. Our dear friend became an ordained minister so he could marry us. It's worth the hype and investment in creating the event of your dreams with the person you love and all your family and friends celebrating around you. Deciding to have a wedding was the best decision. The couple initially wanted to elope, but luckily their thoughtfully designed celebration lived up to the hype and was everything they imagined. Tess visited Marry Me Tampa Bay for inspiration to plan the wedding of her dreams. We had ceviche for cocktail hour, and our main proteins were open flame churrasco steak with chimichurri and adobo chicken. Ramon conceptualized the menu and prepped all the food for our wedding from his restaurant, Pipo's. We're foodies, so the food was important. “We had a vision and wanted to make sure it reflected both our personalities. Having a coffee truck and cigar roller was a great decision!” the bride detailed. We loved the Cuban touches that we included, such as the coffee truck, cigars, Cuban cuisine, guava, and cheesecake. We wanted the entire evening to be fun and interactive. “We had a vision and wanted to make sure we enhanced our guest experience and that our wedding reflected both our personalities. They treated guests to a cigar roller from Breezin' Entertainment and made sure everyone was ready to party all night with a coffee truck! The bride and groom invited 130 closest family and friends to indulge in a March evening they wouldn't forget, as both parties work in the events/hospitality industry. Her classic look was paired with a low bun to show off the scooped back of the dress and a bold lip by Femme Akoi Beauty Studio. Tess wore an elegant empire waist dress with a v-neck top and a floral hemmed veil. “Our wedding was uniquely us, as it was very bright and full of personality! Our colors were bright and bold, black and fuchsia with a hint of champagne,” the bride detailed. To create a contemporary feel, the bride added acrylic black chargers, flatware, and smoked glass goblets from Gabro Event Services to make the fuchsia colors in the centerpieces pop. To this day, they are all thriving, and every day we think about our wedding when we are in our backyard. We kept all the bougainvillea from the wedding and transplanted them in our backyard. We knew we wanted bougainvillea incorporated into our floral design in some capacity, and our florist sourced big, bright and full bougainvillea for our ceremony. “We love the outdoors, especially in March. We chose Tabellas because of the venue versatility and old-world/new-world aesthetic!” the bride beamed. Pete/Tampa natives and couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else. Tess chose a venue that she knew would exceed her expectations, as she is the Marketing and Events Manager for the property. Petersburg couple wanted to showcase the beauty of their home state and selected an outdoor venue featuring six acres of Florida nature with a lush landscape to complement their floral-filled inspiration.
